THE FLORIDA BAR PRESIDENT’S PRO BONO SERVICE AWARD
Bradenton, FL – Local attorney Larry Ronald Chulock has been awarded the highest honor for pro bono service in the 12th Judicial Circuit by The Florida Bar. The award was given to Mr. Chulock by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Florida, Peggy A. Quince, in recognition for providing free legal services to the poor in Manatee County.
Mr. Chulock has been active in pro bono services primarily through Legal Aid of Manasota, a local non-profit organization that partners local attorneys with the underprivileged that are unable to afford legal services. During his 5 years of volunteering with the organization, he has donated nearly 400 hours of time to helping the poor in complex legal matters such as divorce, custody, visitation, paternity and child support. “Larry is one of the few attorneys who are willing to accept the most challenging cases and doesn’t limit his pro bono assistance to just one area,” says Linda Harradine, Executive Director of Legal Aid of Manasota. “He is inspiring, kind and a genuine pleasure to work with and truly helps to make a difference in Manatee County.”
Mr. Chulock is a sole practitioner at Larry R. Chulock, P.A. in Bradenton. His principal areas of practice are marital and family law, banking and commercial litigation. A native of Chicago, Illinois, he was admitted into The Florida Bar in May 1996 and earned his Juris Doctorate degree from Tulane University Law School. Mr. Chulock is actively involved with The Manatee County Bar Association, serving as an officer and treasurer and also volunteers as a Teen Court Judge.
Legal Aid of Manasota is a non-profit agency that coordinates free legal services and community classes to low income individuals and non-profit groups in Sarasota and Manatee counties. They have recently launched a pro bono initiative called the “ONE” campaign which seeks to educate attorneys on the legal needs of the poor and present them with volunteer opportunities to help.
